About a year and a half ago I graduated from college. Ever since then I’ve been in the “real world,” which basically means strict budget. I see things everyday that I want through blogs, daily newsletters; everywhere I look I swear maxi dresses, espadrille wedges, fedora hats, and python pouches are lurking and taunting me. It can really put a strain on your emotions or your credit card. Either way I have had to come up with ways to deal with this. I’ve started looking at styles in a way, not to purchase them, but to replicate them with what I have already. Yes, I believe in out with the old in with the new, and there is no better time to purge all the things you do not need or use! BUT there is just something about seeing those wide-legged, sailor looking pants you thought were so cute a few years ago or that sequin clutch you brought to your senior prom is back in style. I got my very first designer purse from my grandma my freshman year of high school. It was a Coach monogrammed cross body bag and I loved it. I’ve reinvented it several times over the years by wearing it different ways, adding broaches or tying scarves around it. That style goes in and out but the feelings I get each time I wear it on a night out with the girls or date night with my boyfriend can never be replaced.

My absolute favorite daily newsletter is The Zoe Report. Each day she recommends an outrageously glamorous must-have which usually has me reworking all my finances in my head and trying to come up with ways to be able to afford it. But I take her advice to my closet and can usually find items that resemble a lot of her suggestions. Don’t get me wrong, I am a HUGE believer in saving and working hard for what you want, and my biggest dream/ goal is to have a closet full of Christian Louboutins, but there has to boundaries and ways a young professional can make it through all the temptations. Another fabulous outbreak are the designer discounted websites. There are amazing sites out there that help cut down the costs of looking good. Rue La La, The Outnet, Groupon, Living Social, Coup Tessa, Rent the Runway, and the list just goes on and on. All in all imitation is key, mix the old with the new, and have a glamorous time with everything you do!
