Fab Storage Finds

Living in a townhouse has its perks, enough storage is NOT one of them! That is why I am constantly trying to find ways to store the things I LOVE but without taking up much space. Most of the time I try to sneakily hide them so my place is left looking chic and clean! Here are some suggestions Better Homes and Gardens have on how those flea market finds or vintage storage compartments can house what you need and what you can't imagine giving up!
vintage wooden jewelry box
I have one of these on my nightstand next to my bed! I usually put hair clips, vitamins, Advil (after those girls nites out!) and other things that I might need once I have gotten into bed.
Bird cage mail storage
I LOVE this idea! Mail is always collecting on my bar, on the top of my refrig, everywhere!! I would use this birdcage to divide between read mail, bills, mail for my boyfriend, etc. In fact, I have a bigger vintage birdcage holding my blankets in my living room now,  I'm definitely going to transform it and use for my mail.
Shutter for Sorting
Another great way to organize mail (Can you tell it is a growing problem in my place?) is to use an old window shutter. I love how they placed fabric over a cork board and attached it to the shutter!

Windowpane cupboard
This is PERFECT for all the those little picture frames, vases, or other tiny must haves that you just can't seem to find a spot for!
Bathroom Salt and pepper shaker storage
I think this is my favorite!! You can find old salt and pepper shakers everywhere, here Better Homes and Gardens suggests storing bath salts or maybe even a small tealight candle and situating them near the bathtub.
Trophy storage
This one could go hand-in-hand with the above. Use small trophies to house cotton balls, Q-tips, razors, etc.

I don't know about you but all this makes me want to visit the flea market this weekend! What are some savvy ways you store the things you need and love?

Fashion Faves!

My day is just not complete without my PopSugar Daily Digest! This is one of my outlets where I catch up on my Celeb Gossip! It is typically the first thing I read when I get home from work. Today I am LOVING...
Blake Lively Pictures Shooting Savages
Blake Lively filming Savages! Check out her fabulous arm accessories HERE!
Kristin Cavallari Walking Her Dog Without Ring Pictures
Kristin Cavallari - She is typically someone I look to for fashion inspiration, we have similar styles!
Katy Perry, Sofia Vergara, and Jayma Mays at The Smurfs Premiere
There was a poll going on yesterday whether this was a hit or miss? I think HIT!! What do you think? I LOVE the bling! AND her hair color :) Check out Katy Perry's smurf nails HERE!

Well I can smell dinner almost ready! Tonight is date night for PB and me. Even though we live together we try to devote at least one night a week to each other (date night)! Typically it is Saturday, but I thought it would be a fun change up to do it on a Tuesday! :) He is making panko encrusted shrimp and homemade french fries (healthy! lol). I hope everyone has a wonderful night!! xo

Britney Spears in Miami!!!

My girlfriends and I are pretty much the biggest Britney fans around! So when we heard she was coming to Miami (Just an hour South of us!) on her Femme Fatale tour we were one of the first to buy tickets!! We decided to make a little staycation out of it and got 2 hotel rooms just walking distance from the concert.
We arrived in Miami early afternoon...
... And got all the fabulous festivities started off right!
Now, what do you wear to a Britney Spears concert? Just about whatever you want!! That is the best thing about it :)

I decided to go with my Free People Skirt, Martin + Osa Tank, Express Necklaces, and Steve Madden Nude Heels <Cut out of the picture :( !! >
And of course....
Did my nails to match! (OPI Give Me Moor! <How appropriate for Britney!> and Silver by Black Poppy)

Once we were all ready we went to the Hard Rock Cafe in Bayside to have a couple drinks!

I had the BEST White Sangria (in the back)! There were so many Oranges, Lemons, and Limes, I couldn't get enough.
We had amazing seats! This concert did make me realize I need a new camera (sorry for how dark this is!). I have to say this was by far the BEST concert I have been too. I wasn't the biggest fan of Nicki Minaj before this, but now I am hooked! She did a beyond amazing performance and was also joined by Sean Kingston for a song!!
I loved how I did not feel strange or awkward for dancing around and singing. We stood the entire time (barefoot, damn you Steve Madden!) and had the best time! Britney performed all her latest hits (Til the World Ends, I Wanna Go, Trouble For Me, etc. etc...) and about 2 - 3 songs from each of her albums! PERFECTION <3 I was NOT ready for it to be over!
The best part was that I was with all of my girlfriends! I think it is really important to take in every moment with your friends and cherish them all!!
This was best staycation yet, and I am sure there will be more to come! Stay tuned for more pictures from the weekend :) xoxo

Love Your Locks!!

When I was a Sophomore in College I was diagnosed with alopecia. There are different forms and cases of alopecia some more severe than others, I was luckily not a bad case. But being a 20 year old college student losing her hair, it was the end of the world to me. Ever since then I've read just about every hair care article and have tried everything! I am always ampted up on Biotin (7500 mcg(s) to be exact!), I make sure to eat enough protein, and only straighten my hair on the weekends :) My hair has come a long way, but it is still not 100%. So when I saw the headlines Want Shiny, Healthy Hair? Avoid These 9 Hair Mistakes on MSN yesterday I knew I HAD to read and share!
Mistake #1: Shampooing Daily
I shampoo every other day, some experts will tell you to try and hold off to every third day. Your natural oils are good for your strands. Having curly hair I have to make sure to just wet my hair on the days I dont shampoo or I'll look like a mess!
Mistake #2: Always Fastening Your Pony in the Same Spot
It is always good to move your ponytail/ bun in different areas of your head so you don't cause some serious breakage.
Mistake #3: Combing Wet Hair from Roots to Ends
This is a very good tip that I just learned. I break my hair up into 3 tiers ends, to mid section, to roots. This prevents pulling and breaking your hair at the top of your head.
Mistake #4: Brushing Your Hair for Shine
All your hair needs is a few strokes. When I think of this I am immediately reminded of the scene from A Little Princess where Sara tells the mean girl of the house if she continues to brush her hair it will all fall out.
Mistake #5: Blow-Drying Hair that is Dripping Wet
This I DID NOT know. I think I always dry my hair when it is pretty dripping wet! This causes a lot of heat damage, it is suggested that you only blow dry your hair for 20 minutes TOPS. I also use my cooling button on my blow dryer. Every few seconds I blast my roots with some cool air!
Mistake #6: Ignoring Your Scalp
Your scalp needs some lovin' just like the rest of your body! A monthly/ yearly/ whenever you can talk your partner into giving you a massage, dont ignore your head. 1. It feels amazing and 2. it helps stimulate your follicles and promotes hair growth!
Mistake #7: Using the Wrong Brush
Good Housekeeping recommends, the longer your locks, the larger in diameter your brush should be. To create volume, use a round brush; to smooth hair, a paddle shape is best.
Mistake #8: Avoiding Hair Spray
I sometimes avoid hair spray because it does attract bees (and I HATE bees!). BUT it is good for your hair! It locks out humidity, so use as much as you need to keep your due looking fab!
Mistake #9: Masking, not treating dandruff
Dandruff is actually an inflammatory scalp disease unrelated to dryness, says Dr. McMichael in the article. The cure? A shampoo with salicylic acid, zinc, selenium sulfide or tar to eliminate flakes.
Now what are your hair DOs and DONTs?

Bedroom Bliss....

Ok get your heads out of the gutter ;) If there is one room I am constantly looking for decorating inspiration for, it is definitely my bedroom. I always feel it just needs those special curtains, a chandelier, then a chaise lounge chair, etc... I found these glamorous bedrooms in Better Homes and Gardens!! Enjoy!

I LOVE any room gold and white mixed, it screams out victorian glamour! This dramatic head board is actually an old bar mirror.

Doesn't this room look like it could be in the same house as the one above? Royalty at it's finest!

Like I said I am a HUGE white fan! Don't you love that flowing white headdress?
LOVE the variety and definition in this bedroom! Vintage pieces mixed with vibrant patterns makes this one of my favs!! <3
Last BUT surely not least!!! Could you DIE for that chandelier?
What is your favorite thing about your bedroom? Do you feel you always need just that one more item/ decor to tie it all together?

Mod Cloth Obsession!!

There is something about the middle of the work week that gets me pumped and looking forward to my weekend outfits. This weekend I am heading to the West Coast to see my family! With the short amount of time away I need plenty of mix and match options. Here are a few of my inspirations from Mod Cloth!
I would wear this Merry and Faithful dress with...

...these Always Buckle Up Wedges and the Weekend Wonderful Shoulder Bag (how appropriate?!) This bag can also go with...

...Mod Cloth's Letters from Abroad Tee tucked in and paired with...

...Top Deck Shorts and Notch-ural Beauty Boot ( LOVE the name of these!!)
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week, what are you looking forward too this weekend??

Summertime Sandwiches

My favorite part about Summer is being outside and in the heat. Yes, surprisingly I love being in the hott Summer sun. It gives me an excuse to drink as many daiquiris and eat as much ice cream as I want! I found this delicious recipe in my Better Homes and Gardens daily newsletter, I altered it a tad to make it a bit more "me" friendly! These Summertime Sherbet Sandwiches will leave you anything but HOTT!

Ingredients:
1 Package of refrigerated ready to bake sugar cookie dough
2 tsp. milk
4 tsp. coarse sugar
1 1.75 qt tropical fruit or rainbow sherbet

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Break each square of cookie dough and place on a greased baking sheet. Brush the tops of dough with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
2. Bake according to the directions on the package (about 11 minutes or until edges are lightly browned). Cool on cookie sheet 1 minute. Transfer to wire rack; cool completely.
3. Place a large baking sheet in freezer. Cut carton from sherbet. With a very sharp knife, cut in half lengthwise. Cut again in 1-inch slices. Halve each slice crosswise. Return to freezer for 1 hour or until firm.
4. To assemble sandwiches place sherbet slice between two cookies, sprinkled side out. Wrap in plastic; and freeze 4 hours or until firm. Cookies may be frozen for up to 3 months.
